Volunteer Docents needed at the

Cypress Island Preserve!

The Nature Conservancy is looking for adventurous volunteers interested in the habitat and wildlife of south Louisiana. We greet travelers from around the world at our Visitor Center and share information about one of North America's most important waterbird rookeries . Join our team of Docents! Training is offered in January.

The Nature Conservancy is also looking  for Paddle Patrol volunteers. If you already paddle on Lake Martin or would like to paddle on Lake Martin AND you are interested in helping to protect the nationally significant waterbird rookery, please contact us to join our amazing team of volunteers. Paddlers are asked to survey the rookery boundary during the  nesting season whenever they are paddling on the lake. Our presence from the water on Lake Martin helps to ensure the ongoing success of the 13 waterbird species that call Lake Martin home.
